Hygiene Program
Over time, hard deposits of bacteria (dead and alive) and minerals build up on your teeth. This is called plaque.
The bacteria in the plaque contributes to tooth decay, infection of the gums (gingivitis) and if not removed by a dental professional will evolve into a severe infection of the gums and bone supporting your teeth (periodontitis) leading to tooth loss.
At a minimum, a visit twice a year to Smile Bright Dental team of dentists and hygienists will evaluate your teeth, gums, and bone while removing the hardened bacterial buildup that causes oral diseases. Your dentist may request digital Xrays at this visit to give valuable information that we may not otherwise gather by a visual check alone.
Polishing to remove stains is also done during this visit and also gives the teeth a silky smooth feel.
We will coach you on best dental practices, techniques and recommend dental aids to help you proactively reduce future dental problems.
